Yes! These are the authentic, original Gad 2 ski lift chairs. Unlike other reproduction chairs you may find for sale, these are the real deal. Meta Designs has a long-standing relationship with Snowbird providing custom metal work.

We offer door-to-door delivery for customers near and far, but do not offer installation services.
If you’re in Utah, we charge a flat rate of $150 for in-town delivery (SLC Valley) or $200 for our customers a bit farther away (Park City, Ogden, Provo areas). These fees are the same regardless of how many chairs are purchased.
If you’re out of state, no worries! Depending on the weight and size of the chair, rates vary from $450-650 freight throughout the United States. Contact us directly for more information on this process.

Yes! This is the natural habitat of our ski lift chairs. The original frame is galvanized steel made to weather 42 years outside at Snowbird and many more wherever you choose to put it. Our bases are finished in a durable powder coating to hold up just as well.
As with any steel item stored outside, small rust spots can occur. You can continue caring for these chairs by using spray galvanizing for touchups to the original frame and avoiding chipping the powder coat.

Yes, the Red Oak is suitable for exterior use. As with any wood item exposed to the elements it will require care over time such as sanding and/or refinishing with a protective sealer.

A 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Wasatch Adaptive Sports (WAS) was established in 1977 to provide affordable recreational and educational opportunities for children, adults and veterans with adaptive needs to share with their support network or family. Recreational opportunities offered through WAS include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking, cycling, indoor cycling, paddle boarding, kayaking, yoga and more.
We decided to give back to the Snowbird and outdoor recreation community and donate 10% of profits to support WAS.

We have a limited supply of Gad 2 chairs and powder coated 25% of the chair bases in each color: Snowbird Red, Green, Blue and Black. Once a color is out of stock, that’s it.

Meta Designs is a custom metal fabrication company located in SLC specializing in showcase stairs, railings and kinetics. Meta has been fabricating metal for Snowbird for 13 years - you slide by our work all over the mountain!

Our optional hangers are decorative (the originals are much larger and often compromised during removal). We created a base structure so our customers can show off their piece of history easily, and wherever it will fit.

All sales made through Wasatch Ski Chairs are considered final. This includes both "as is" and custom products. Once a purchase is completed, it cannot be canceled, refunded, or exchanged. If your order was created by mistake, please contact us within 24 hours and we will do our best to remedy the situation.
